Your Therapist
Your assurance that your therapist is the real deal.
Peace of mind is what we do!

It is hugely important that you can have faith in your EFT practitioner.
When the EFT Advanced Practitioner Training Course was created there were two reasons for it:
- because I know from experience just how powerful EFT is and wanted this fantastic technique more widely accessible for a variety of practitioners, and
- because I wanted to provide quality training that is value for money based on my experience of what therapists need to help their clients – people like you.

When I set out to train EFT practitioners I had you in mind. Obviously I don’t know who you are from Adam….or Eve come to that…. but that doesn’t matter. I started writing with the idea that the people I was ultimately helping were fee paying clients. There are thousands of therapies and therapists out there. The choice can be bewildering, and it can be really hard to tell whether someone has been well trained or not, whether they are professional, whether they are ethical.

The first association I sent the course to was
The Accredited Counsellors Coaches Psychotherapists and Hypnotherapists. I am registered there as a Training Organisation (#2094). The ACCPH validates the training I have given to my trainees as an “Accredited Course” and as “Validated CPD”. These two things tell the therapist who trained with me that my course, its contents, and the training I provide are of a high standard.
In fact they insist upon the following as general standards
The General Standards of Training
Course Quality
General Standards of Training and principles to be included in any Counselling, Coaching, Psychotherapy or Hypnotherapy training course. Training must inform students of the following :
- Respect for the client’s autonomy, cultural differences and rights.
- Practitioner awareness of the limits of their level of competence and the vulnerability of the client.
- Awareness of the importance of personal development and CPD
- Maintain professional boundaries
- Use a professional mentor for advice and supervision as required
- Be able to make ethical decisions
Course content
Training must include a balance of theory (and practice when applicable). This practice may be face-to-face or set home study case studies that have to be recorded and documented. The course should usually but not exclusively include:
-
How psychological problems develop
-
The process of therapeutic or coaching change
-
The importance of the therapeutic or coaching relationship
-
Ethics and the law
-
Psychopathology
-
Relationship building, rapport with clients
-
Communication
-
Assessment of the client’s situation or condition
-
Formulation of psychotherapeutic or coaching strategies and interventions
-
Evaluation of the treatment or coaching is relation to client progress
-
Reflective practice
-
Specialist skills appropriate to the core theoretical model of the course.

The second professional association I sent the EFT Advanced Practitioner Course to was the Association for Professional Hypnosis and Psychotherapy (APHP). I was then assessed by Georgia McKinnon who is the Chair of APHP, NRPC and UKCHO, and also by Emma Evans who is Co-Director of the APHP, NRPC and Senior Tutor at the Kent Institute of Clinical Hypnosis, both of whom observed me “in action” teaching trainee therapists.
As as result of my work on EFT the ACCPH not only accredited and validated the course, but also elected me as a Fellow of the ACCPH. The APHP also gave me their seal of approval by bestowing the Accredited CPD badge upon the course.
I am one of the Guest Speakers at the Kent Institute of Clinical Hypnosis, based in Medway.

A course that has that little bit more.
The training course includes all those fundamental skills that I believe are most important for therapist to have if they are to help the widest possible number of clients using Emotional Freedom Technique. But then I added more. EFT comes under the heading of “energy psychology”, to make the training as broad and as in-depth as possible I have included in the training of your practitioner the fundamentals of Thought Field Therapy which was created by Dr Roger Callahan, and was a distinctive forerunner to Emotional Freedom Technique. To my knowledge there is not another EFT training course that does this. And that isn’t all…
Trainees are also introduced to methods taken from Neuro-linguistic programming, provocative therapy and other areas to help them become better observers and facilitators of fast therapeutic change.

A certificate that means something.
Those who take this course do not receive a practitioner certificate for simply watching videos or reading through a manual.
The take part in an intensive in-person training courses, or 16+ hours of live on line training in which they are supervised in learning and practicing the Techniques of Emotional Freedom. There are then a further 16 hours of guided study that practitioners partake in, in addition to any practice they make outside of lectures.
At the end of the training there is an 88 question exam in which each answer is marked as PASS or FAIL. 80 accuracy is required. This is not a multiple choice exam, some questions require further research beyond the taught content of the course.
AND THEN – to finally qualify they must submit four cases studies at least one of which should be a video recorded appointment so that they can be observed demonstrating as many skills as they can during the recorded appointment.
Those who have been awarded practitioner status are given a logo very much like the one above that links back to this page. This page is hidden so only a practitioner to whom I have given the link can link back to this website. If you want to double check that your practitioner has been trained by me I will be happy to provide verification. As of 2025 all Advanced EFT Practitioners trained by me have a certificate with an individual scannable seal that cannot be removed> By scanning that seal you are directed to another of my websites where I list all those who have received valid training from me since 2025.

I could have made things easy for myself and the trainees and simply sold the course to whoever came along, but that would be unprincipled. Instead having written the course, I sent it to be scrutinised not just by one, but by two professional associations.

I operate a strict application process.
I do not teach anyone. All my trainees have to meet a minimum standard before they are allowed to join the course.
Training, Professionalism, & Ethical Standards.
This minimum standard requires that they are already trained to at least diploma level in accordance with the requirements of the National Occupational Standards Agency. These require a minimum number of 120/450 hours training. This requires that at least 120 hours out of 450 hours must have been in class, or live face-to-face teaching. The remaining hours must be made up of coursework.
All my trainees are members of professional associations which require therapists to take out professional indemnity insurance, and to adhere to a code of ethical practice.
Your therapist will always be happy to show your their qualifications and insurance certificates if you ask to see them.
They will also be subject to CPD requirements which help maintain professional standards, the retention and updating of skill.
My preference is for my trainees to follow the APHP Code of Ethics because I believe it present the fullest expression of who a professional therapist should conduction themselves.

Transparency is essential.
None of us like the hidden costs or the small print. None of us like the exaggerated sales pitch with nothing to back it up. I am a consumer just like you, and I appreciate transparency just as you do.
The EFT Advanced Practitioner Course is one of the few courses that actually shows the full content of its training. Furthermore the practitioner register which you can find on this website is to my knowledge unique in that it shows exactly what training a registrant has undertaken. You can find all this on the Training page. Remember! This shows only the EFT training a registrant/graduate has undertaking with me in Emotional Freedom Technique. All of them will have a variety of qualifications and training aside from this.
